The last day of the 68-day budget debate, MPs acknowledge the royal command to appoint the "Paetongtarn Cabinet 1", while the Interior Minister 4 "Thirat" could not hold back his tears, crying in the middle of the meeting room due to the loss of his father, MPs came to give encouragement. The House of Representatives meeting, chaired by Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, President of the House of Representatives, considered the draft bill (Bill) on the fiscal year 2025, readings 2 and 3. In the beginning, the president informed the meeting of the royal decree announcing the appointment of ministers, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister. The meeting then proceeded to consider Section 25 of the budget for the Ministry of Public Health, which has set a budget of 53,622 million baht. Reporters reported that this morning, Ms. Thirat Samretwanich, MP for Bangkok, Pheu Thai Party and Deputy Minister of Interior, came to the meeting with a sad expression due to the loss of her father, Mr. Wibun Samretwanich, form er Bangkok Councilor, Lat Krabang District, in 1975, who passed away from old age at the age of 91. This caused Pheu Thai MPs to go talk to and give encouragement to Ms. Thirat in the meeting room. At one point, Ms. Thirat could not hold back her tears and picked up a tissue to wipe her tears, causing fellow female MPs from Pheu Thai Party to go in and give encouragement. Reporters reported that towards the end of the debate, there was chaos because Mr. Srisutpong Kwongkeaw, MP for Krabi from the Bhumjaithai Party, asked to exercise his right to protest the debate by Mr. Prasertpong Sornnuwat, MP for the party-list from the Prachachon Party, who debated in a sarcastic manner that the MP for Krabi had not done anything for 4 years. According to the constitution, there are limitations, and he asked the chairman to rule to have him withdraw his words. Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor ruled that in order to proceed, the tape did not need to be played. He asked the debaters to please retract their words that were damaging to the three MPs, which he viewed as damaging to the MPs, causing Mr. Prasertpong to argue that Mr. Srisutpong himself stated that he had not listened to what he had discussed and said that he had made slanderous accusations. This was tantamount to slandering him. It would be better to listen first. If you listen to people around you and then accuse me, the friendship will be ruined for nothing. In this regard, I do not have any words that are damaging and will not retract them. He asked people to listen to the tape first and not to listen to people around you without listening with your own ears. This caused Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor to try to mediate by asking Mr. Sritphong to lift the words that were offensive because the debate had already skipped over several parts and might have forgotten them. He only brought up the words that were offensive and let the debaters retract them. Mr. Sritphong said that the three representatives from Krabi had done nothing in four years. The person who made the remark used th e parliament stage to campaign on many occasions and made references to doctors. There were two MPs sitting in the room but they did not want to interrupt, which would cause damage. Mr. Prasertphong insisted that he did not say those words. This caused the House Speaker to make a compromise decision to record Mr. Srisutphong's protest, asking for only this much because he was in this House. However, Mr. Srisutphong still requested to exercise his right and stated, 'In order not to waste the House's time on pointless matters, I would like to ask permission to review the tape and shorthand. If he speaks truthfully and is truly damaging, I will take unethical action against the members. The opposition has done nothing, but still accuses each other.' This caused Mr. Prasertphong to stand up and protest. But before the verbal clash escalated, Mr. Wan Muhammad Noor interrupted, saying that once the recording and the accusation had been made, let's end it. Before allowing the committee to clarify and vote on the sa id article immediately, which was approved. Source: Thai News Agency
