Inspector, 5 Wage Committee members petition Inspector to investigate Permanent Secretary of Labor's resolution to adjust the formula to increase the minimum wage to 400 baht, which is unlawful. Ms. Naowarat Songsawasdichai and 5 others from the Employers' Confederation of Thai Trade and Industry, which is the 22nd Wage Committee, also filed a petition with the Ombudsman to investigate the performance of Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathian, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, as the Chairman of the 22nd Wage Committee and the Labor Academic Officer, in preparing the meeting report of the 22nd Wage Committee, No. 5/2567 on May 14, 2567, because they believed that the meeting on that day, which resolved to adjust the new minimum wage calculation formula and the recording of the meeting minutes, was not in accordance with the Labor Protection Act. Ms. Naowarat said that they were affected by the meeting on that day. There was a discussion on the guidelines for adjusting the minimum wage to 400 baht according to the government's policy. There were 36 participants in the meeting. It was concluded that the consideration of adjusting the wage formula was a consideration that did not comply with Section 87 of the Labor Protection Act 1998. Later, there was a vote of 7 to 5 to approve the adjustment of the minimum wage calculation formula, which they disagreed with because they viewed the adjustment of the minimum wage calculation formula as a matter of setting the minimum wage rate, which Section 82 of the same law stipulates that there must be a resolution of the meeting with at least 2/3 of the votes of the committee that attended the meeting and considered it. Therefore, the resolution of the meeting was unlawful. 'The request to change the new minimum wage calculation formula was not informed to us in advance. There was only a discussion on the minimum wage rate, which had already been resolved by the committee on wage adjustments on February 27, 2024. Therefore, we objected in the meeting that if there was real ly a request to change the calculation formula, it should be made as a separate agenda and a subcommittee should be set up to study the formula to be revised and changed. However, the meeting minutes were not recorded correctly. Therefore, the actions of Mr. Pairoj, the official who recorded the meeting minutes and checked the meeting minutes, caused distress and damage to them as members of the 22nd Wage Committee who were bound by the false meeting resolutions, causing distress and damage to the public and severely affecting the country's economy or finance, causing distress to the public and affecting the country's economy or finance,' said Ms. Naowarat.
