Bangkok, July 13 is the last day to confirm your identity to maintain your rights for those who have registered to use 6 or more SIM cards per network. The NBTC office asks for the public's cooperation in confirming their identity before the signal is suspended. Mr. Trirat Viriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), revealed that July 13, 2024 will be the deadline for identity verification for those who have registered 6-100 SIM cards in order to suspend the use of mobile phone services to commit or support illegal acts. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is asking for cooperation from people who have registered 6-100 SIM cards per camp to verify their identity with their mobile phone service providers through the channels specified by each camp. If the deadline is exceeded, the number will be suspended and unable to make calls, send SMS messages, or use the internet. According to service providers, as of June 30, 2024, a total of 1,635,407 users have verified their identities and active numbers, out of 3,981,251 numbers that need to be verified. The remaining 2.3 million numbers must verify their identities by July 13, or their services will be suspended. However, even if their services are suspended, if they verify their identities, they will be able to use the services continuously. For details on identity verification, the NBTC has issued an announcement requiring identity verification of users, which can be divided into 2 groups: 1) those who have registered 6-100 SIM cards, and 2) those who have registered 101 or more SIM cards.
