Inviting Thai people to host the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting

Thailand is ready to 'increase' and invite Thais to host the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting and welcome representatives from the ASEAN Community to join forces to transform and define the future of education in the digital age. Pol. Gen. Phemphun Chidchob, Minister of Education, gave a press conference on the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting and Related Meetings, under the theme 'Transforming Education in the Digital Era', to be held from 23 - 26 August 2024 in Buriram Province. Pol. Gen. Phermpoon Chidchob said that this meeting is an important platform for educational leaders from ASEAN member countries, ASEAN+3 (China, Korea, Japan), and ASEAN+8 (China, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, the United States, and Russia) to have the opportunity to present their visions, exchange approaches to drive education, and push for cooperation in human resource development in the future to be in line with global changes under the topic of 'Transforming Education in the Digital Age.' It also e mphasizes Thailand's commitment to supporting educational cooperation among ASEAN member countries and with dialogue partners. For the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting and related meetings, it will be divided into 2 levels: Ministerial level meetings and Senior Officials or Permanent Secretary level meetings as follows: 1. 19th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education: SOM-ED on Friday 23 August 2024 2. 14th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Officials Meeting on Education: APT SOMED: 10 ASEAN countries plus the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Japan on Saturday 24 August 2024 3. 9th East Asia Summit Senior Officials Meeting on Education: EAS SOMED: 10 ASEAN countries plus the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, Russia and the United States on Saturday 24 August 2024 4. The 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting (ASED) on Sunday 25 August 2024 5. The 7th ASEAN Plus Three Education Ministers Meeting (APT EMM) on Monday 26 August 2024 6. The 7th East Asia Summit Education Ministers Meeting (EAS EMM) on Monday 26 August 2024 In addition to the conference, there will be activities for participants to study at educational institutions to exchange knowledge on education at the primary, secondary and vocational levels related to Active Learning, life skills, innovation, and applying AI technology to teaching and learning, in line with the Ministry of Education's "Good Learning, Happy Learning" policy, including visiting cultural learning resources and ways of life in Buriram Province, which has the slogan "City of Stone Castles, Volcanic Land, Beautiful Silk, Rich in Culture, Excellent Sports City", as well as an exhibition presenting the essence of the project and activities on the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence to flexible and integrated teaching and learning, where learners can learn anywhere, anytime, and enhance digital skills that meet the needs of the labor market through activities and projects that focus on practical work to promote vocational skills and generate income while studying and have a job after graduation.
