Inviting Thai fabric entrepreneurs to respond to the royal initiative ‘Thai fabric, wear it for fun’

Muang Thong Thani, 'Ministry of Interior' invites Thai fabric entrepreneurs to respond to the royal initiative 'Thai fabric, fun to wear' of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to develop Thai fabric to international standards, improve income and quality of life of entrepreneurs. The Ministry of Interior, by the Community Development Department, organized a press conference for the Royal Fabric Pattern Contest 'Siriwachiraphon Fabric Pattern' and the annual handicraft fair 2024 to develop Thai fabric products and handicrafts to have quality that is accepted internationally, following the royal initiative 'Thai Fabric, Fun to Wear' of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to further develop local wisdom, knowledge, and modern technology to generate income for the community and promote Thai fabric to be up-to-date internationally. The press conference was attended by Mr. Suttipong Juljarern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Sayam Sirimongk ol, Director-General of the Community Development Department, Mr. Thanantrat Thanasethakan, and Mr. Sarinda Chamonman, Advisors to the Thai Fabric, Fun to Wear Project. Mr. Suttiphong said that this project was born from the determination of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to develop the quality of life of the people in the field of handicrafts and handicrafts. Therefore, Her Royal Highness granted 4 royal fabric patterns: Wachiraphakti pattern, Princess Sirivannavari's 2567 request pattern, heart pattern, and Dok Rak Rat Phakdi pattern. Her Royal Highness granted 4 types of initial designs: Kab Bua fabric, woven fabric, Jok, Khid, Praewa, Mudmee fabric, and batik fabric. These 4 main royal patterns can be woven and combined with local wisdom patterns according to the creativity of the artists. Her Royal Highness played an important role in promoting and stimulating the development of Thai fabrics to be modern and to be able to expand the production of fabrics to be popular. La st year, there was a contest for various royal fabric patterns, which provided producers and OTOP entrepreneurs with more marketing channels and income, generating over 100 billion baht in income, which helped stimulate the economy and the quality of life of producers. For those interested in joining the project, you can submit your work to the District Community Development Office and Provincial Community Development Office nationwide from today until August 15, 2024. The committee will then consider, filter, and select the regional competition works in 4 regions. The regional final round will be held on September 21 and the national semi-finals on September 23. On October 31st, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya will preside over the judging of the final round of the Royal Fabric Pattern Contest. In November, the Ministry of Interior will hold a ceremony to p resent the Royal Medal from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to the winners of the contest.
