A tourist plane crashed in a mangrove forest in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. Officials are searching for the missing persons, believed to be 7 foreigners and 2 pilots. Their fate is still unknown. Today (22 August) at 3:00 PM, Bang Pakong Police Station received a report of a small plane crashing in the mangrove forest behind Wat Khao Din, Village 6, Khao Din Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. They therefore coordinated with the Forensic Science Institute and officers from the Chachoengsao Rescue Unit to urgently search for the bodies of the missing passengers on the small plane and urgently coordinated with officers from Suvarnabhumi Airport to inspect the scene. The accident occurred in a mangrove forest. People had to walk to get there. They found the white wreckage of the plane. The wings were above the mud. The head and body were buried in the mud. Rescue workers tried to find the passengers on the plane but could not find them. They found only luggage, small ch ildren's equipment, and pictures of foreign tourists inside the bag. Mr. Preecha, 56, a local witness, said that he heard the plane accelerate very loudly. There was no smoke coming out of it before the plane slowly descended, ran through the rice fields and crashed into the mangrove forest. It was a small white plane with two wings. After the crash, there was a loud explosion. Currently, relevant officials, including officials from Suvarnabhumi Airport, have traveled to the area to investigate the initial cause of the crash. Flight number TFT209, a Cessna caravan C208, registration HSSKR, took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 14:46 hrs., destined for Trat Airport (Koh Mai Si), lost contact with Bangkok Approach, frequency 122.35 MHz at 14:57 hrs., position southeast, distance 18.7 nautical miles (BEARING 116/18.7 NM). Later, it appeared on social media that there had been an accident in Ba ng Pakong District. Now, a team of rescue workers is being mobilized to search for 9 missing persons believed to have come from the plane: 7 tourists and 2 pilots.
